Mellie Mac Nursery

Since we were in the mood to look at all things plants, and the weather was warm and sunny here last Saturday, we stopped in Black Mountain's own nursery to see about more things we needed (to have, to know.)

Thought for the day:
How far you go in life depends on your being tender with the young, compassionate with the aged, sympathetic with the striving, and tolerant of the weak and strong. Because someday in your life you will have been all of these.
George Washington Carver

  1. The top flower is that a house plant? I see them in the stores and do they thrive in the house . It must be for Easter. I do like the color and the puffiness of it. Beautiful. I take pictures of it also but do not know about it.

    1. Hydrangias do ok in yards in my neighborhood. There are pink and blue ones at the nursery, and I've heard the colors are because of the acidity of the soil, so you can change your colors maybe. The ones in my yard are white, and don't bloom till fall, so maybe I'll find out how to get them a different color.
