Swannanoa River

A nice shallow rocky bottomed river.  Where Lulu is walking is the Swannanoa River coming in from our right, and Flat Creek joining it on the left (behind trees).

And so it will go down the mountains, curving along banks, to join the French Broad River, which flows through mountains to Tennessee, where it joins the river of that name, which joins the Ohio, and then the Mississippi.

It's nice to think that my hand in this water touches water that will flow into the Gulf of Mexico eventually.

  1. We have a nice river called Otter river that runs from way up north of us and down south of us flowing through our valley here and flows to lake Erie , it is so pretty and tranquil ! I love the sound of little brooks through the woods we have here to . Lovely photos . Thanks for sharing , Have a good day !

  2. I often think about that when I look at the branches beside our houe -- their journey begins at springs just above our house and will carry on to the French Broad end, eventually to the oceans of the world.
