Blushing tree

GThe morning sun just shimmered through these leaves.

Not one bit of shame at being so garish!

The sun also gave great blush to the Oak Hydrangia...sporting beautiful ribs.  I took one leaf home, and in an hour it turned dead and crumbled.  This is the last of life of these leaves.

Quote for today:

We must learn to reawaken and keep ourselves awake, not by mechanical aids, but by an infinite expectation of the dawn.
Henry David Thoreau

  1. Beautiful. Interesting how some leaves hang on even after the big show.

  2. The blushing tree has a great shape. I like the limbs that all form a sculpture with its limbs. The red and red orange are such vivid colors.

  4. What a magnificent show of red leaves. You must experience astounding colors in your state. Did you ever wax fall leaves when you were young to save through the winter. I sometimes think about the times I did using wax paper and a warm iron and towel. Would be fun I think and what lovely leaves we could experience all winter. -- barbara

  5. Oh my, Barbara...I missed my chance. I've got wax paper. I've got an iron (someplace, haven't used it for about...?) and so you'll get some leaves next year! Yes real leaves would be so much prettier than those artificial ones!
