Which peak is which?

A nice summertime photo.

My photo with some of the same mountains showing.

The lake in winter.

The peaks on the right are called the Seven Sisters. There used to be a nice photo dioramma describing which one was which, but between weathering and vandalism, it's been removed. Several businesses in Black Mountain go by the name Seven Sisters.

And here's the update of our Friday-Saturday snowfall. All gone by Sunday.

Weather update for yesterday, Mon. Jan 16, 2023 Cool night. Daytime warmer, but I didn't feel like going out.

Today's quote: (Not sure I agree, dealing with carnivorous wildlife, I'm not going to sit still!)

The basis of all animal rights should be the Golden Rule -- we should treat them as we would wish them to treat us were any other species in our dominant position.

    1. I actually bought a wonderful book full of identification of mountains from the Blue Ridge Parkway...but haven't taken it up to stop at each overlook to see what it really looks like. That's a project for another summer.

  5. I love seeing the mountains there and learning that the peaks are called "Seven Sisters." There is a beautiful mountain range in Oregon called the "Three Sisters" in the Cascades.

    1. The Seven Sisters is a laugh. When I heard one is called Grey Beard...I couldn't stop laughing. Oh I'd love to see the Cascades.

    1. Well, you sounded friendly enough...I dare say these days I'll answer real anonymous comments, as long as they don't sound like porn.

  8. You're getting about as much snow as we've been getting of late. Doesn't feel right not to have everything covered in white here.

So glad to have your comments...whatever they may be. I'm one who likes to reply sometime or another, so others will see that; or you might happen back sometime and see what conversation might have started.
