However, I do have a thought to share...somewhat related. As yesterday we celebrated that two very famous men, who probably never knew each other, were born on the same day...I thought how each day this might still be happening. Not just two people but many who will grow up to change the world in major ways (like Lincoln or Darwin). And since I agree with Buckminster Fuller's philosophy that the universe supports those who are working toward a better more creative future of its very being...these many children born today, or maybe 10 or 20 years ago, might tip the balance between movements toward peace, environmental stability, and a healthy sustainable life for all. If a Lincoln and a Darwin managed to grow from the same date of birth in 1809, just think of the possibilities for children born in the twenty-first century! Yes, we are living in exciting times!

DeleteI did not know of the synchronicity that these two shared. I was well aware that it was Darwin Day, but not being American, I didn’t realize about Lincoln.

ReplyDeleteI usually scan through the comments section to catch the ones that our dear program has sent to the "spam waiting for your decisison" pile. You somehow trigger that response about 1/3 of the time. Not every time though. Frustrating, and I'm sorry that I miss your comments that way!
DeleteWe raised our wine glasses last night and shouted out our happy birthdays and gratitude to Lincoln and Darwin. What a wonderful day February 12, 1809 was... two people born on the same day who are still remembered and honored.
ReplyDeleteOh that's lovely. I was celebrating with an ale...and chips before dinner while watching the infamous "game" mainly to see commercials. There weren't any funny ones this time. I had a delightful mushroom "impossible burger crumbled" Alfredo sauce on Angel Hair pasta...oh was it good. Of course the Alfredo was Paul Newman's, not my own. The impossible burger crumbs stuck to the bottom of the pan, but with the sauce eventually came off.
