There was a great blue heron standing by the island in Lake Tomahawk the other day. He's been seen and photographed by others often, but it was my first chance to see him. And he honored me by taking off as soon as I started taking pictures.
Look right in the middle, at the furthest tip of the island. Sorry, my phone couldn't get any bigger image.

Vicki, I don't think I was seriously thinking, just clicking away. Sue, yes, many of our birds remind us the are descended from dinosaurs! Robin, they certainly are beautiful, even regal.

ReplyDeleteHerons are wonderful birds - I always feel like I have seen something when I get a good view of one! We dont have this species in Australia - but we do have a number of others. Hope all is well SM
