More from latest water visit

You knew I did more than just listen while sitting by Flat Creek last Sunday... I did swivel my head, trying to discern which voices of the creek came from which direction. But then I looked more closely and had to capture some of the designs that nature offered.

This strange marble boulder was golden in comparison to the rest of the rocks.

Below the bridge is a nice pool which is always washed away during the next rain...see the rocks going across the water?

Today's quote:

Let yourself be silently drawn by the strange pull of what you really love. It will not lead you astray.

    1. That is very true. When my youngest son (at about 2 years) was temperamental with hot summer days, a bit of a bath with his toys would always sooth him.

    1. I agree, and am always recharged in energy from enjoying moving water. Still water doesn't quite do the same, though I love the reflections it offers.

    1. And yet it means that dip where water flows continually over rocks...a sight that is hard to capture...but I agree there is an abstract quality to it.

    1. I told my friend I just carry my stadium chair over to set besides the creek, and she was amazed. I have in the past just sat on a big rock, but these days I want more comfortability.

    1. THanks, I will be going back more but probably won't take photos until there's something different to share. Each time is like having an elixer of good energies given to myself.

    1. There are several trails that start as you cross the little bridge. One goes high to an overlook. One goes parallel to the creek up into the Montreat College area. And then a short one follows the creek up till private land and a small waterfall, another great summer place for stone dams for little wading pools.

  8. We live beside a river and it's so nice to hear it flow during a summer night. We leave the windows open and it is so refreshing.

    1. Oh that's wonderful for you all. I usually open windows in spring and fall, because the wall of the bedroom has been in hot sun all afternoon, and it isn't comfortable till the wee hours.

  9. I love all of these. There is nothing like rocks and water. And trees.
