Almost invisible between the swirls of leaves, little Lilies of the Valley continue to persevere each spring. This is against many odds, like the tree roots and shallow soil, like the pressure of mulch poured over them, and of course to consider the chemicals to kill anything growing besides the grass over there beyond the tree.
Or you might see healthier ones in a nursery or garden shop!

DeleteOne of my favorite spring blooms. I can even smell their fragrance through my laptop.
