Biking and hills,for Sepia Saturday

Better late than...

Market St. looking toward the Ferry Building, San Francisco 1948.

Originally a straight cobblestone street with a 27-percent grade, it was modified in 1922 to include multiple switchbacks (San Francisco)

And speaking of hills...

Clare County in 1955. This is a pic of Old US-27. (They forgot to name the state.)

-------------------------------------

In memory of Vic Possee, bicyclist and partner/husband to my friend fellow blogger, Gwynneth Rixon.

"Vic was a shining light within the cycling community. His infectious enthusiasm and passion never dwindled.

Not only a talented racer in many different disciplines, he was also a committed volunteer who put his heart and soul back into the sport he so dearly loved.

Gone but never forgotten.

RIP Vic ❤️"

2017, Gwynn and her Pirate

Gwynn and Vic, they both bicycled in Scotland and New Zealand, and many friends of the biking community will miss him.

Part of our collective story is how to meaningfully hold grief and hope, acknowledging what cannot be changed and still envisioning all that can.

I haven't forgotten my friends at Sepia Saturday.
