Montreat Campground - Part One

Before you arrive at the turnoff to the campground, basically crossing a bridge over Flat Creek, there's a spot where you can see the foundation for an old building, or perhaps bridge.

A private campground.  I wish I could have found one as lovely back in the days I was camping for months on end.  (Did it twice, once on the road in 75, and once  in 79...and fortunately had a camper van for both occasions.)

Half the sites are on the water, and half across the road in trees.

Quote for the day:

Eternal Spirit -- Earth-Maker, Pain-bearer, Life-giver; source of all that is and that shall be; Father and Mother of us all. Loving God, in whom is heaven. The hallowing of your name echoes through the universe!

  3. So glad to hear from you both, Mona and Vicki. Vicki, I just wanted to tell you a friend wants me to go with her to the Rural Life Museum in Mars Hill. Road trip time!

So glad to have your comments...whatever they may be. I'm one who likes to reply sometime or another, so others will see that; or you might happen back sometime and see what conversation might have started.
