For the birds, and others

Another great gift from the recent holidays...a hummingbird feeder with pretty glass reservoir.

It will hang outside above my balcony, but I seldom can sit at an angle to watch hummers come. Perhaps I will move my chair!

From the small to the mighty

The new hummingbird feeder is up, and this is the view from my desk through the balcony door. Yes, the little female has come to try out my new nectar.

Ah, I finally caught her drinking!

My other favorite place to look at the feeder is through the bedroom window, so I've got another chance to see her!

A neighbor called 911 the other day.  They just sent Engine No. 4, a big bright new engine for Black Mountain Fire and Rescue.

And in no time at all, the EMT's were on their way.

I saw my neighbor the next day, but didn't ask her why she called them.  She may have just fallen and couldn't get up...she was moving around fine the next day.  It was good that they were able to help her with whatever was going on.

Yes, that grey small car next to the engine is my sweet little Toyota Echo.  Glad I didn't have anywhere to go!
