Container Garden part 2

I'm so glad to have two new geraniums.  All my old geraniums died last summer with root rot when it rained for about a month.  Of course I didn't know that was happening or I might have saved them.  Pots on the ground will probably be recycled for a plant sale soon.

One of the 2 tomato plants has a lot to be hopeful about.  I also planted a few seeds
of zinnias and marigolds around the outside of the plant. Wires are the
 cage to help hold the plant.

My 4 year old gardenia (maybe older) is happily repotted.

17 Top Small Cities in NC

Black Mountain is one of the Top 17 Small Cities in North Carolina.

It's listed as Number 12.  It is very misrepresented in this Cities Journal article.
First the only picture shows the Biltmore Mansion, which is in Asheville.
 
Then they talk about the Black Mountain College, which may have been a great influence in education, but it closed in the 50's...and has only one building left standing by Lake Eden.  They also say the Black Mountain College Museum is here, but it's also in Asheville.  Lake Eden is a site for camps and a music festival twice a year, Lake Eden Arts Festival (LEAF) which they did get right!
 
But Black Mountain has so much more...as you may have seen here on my blog, or just drop by our Welcome Center.

My "potting shed"

 

My planting work area, I could imagine it as a potting shed perhaps.  It's a foundation that once probably held a shed.  The neighbors behind have negotiated with past owners to move their driveway closer into my cottage's space, thus a lovely (?) view from my yard of their cars most of the time.  No wonder I look up to the trees!  But having some raised containers with flowers and herbs will also be nice here.

First promise of a blossom

Ornamental Cherry tree is about to burst forth, but there's a hard freeze expected in another day or so.  I hope it has waited long enough to make it through "dogwood winter."
