Trillium 5.3.14

The sun has finally come up, and all the goods have been hauled out of the church (starting at 6 am) to the parking lot...7:30 am and sales start!  Here Katherine and Jane discuss some signs.

This designer coffee table was sold by silent auction and we're so glad it's going to be enjoyed in a church member's home.  We can still see it there when we visit him!

Outreach table with UUCSV church information was centrally located.  Toys were close by.

The Unitarian Universalist Congregation of the Swannanoa Valley, 500 Montreat Rd, Black Mountain, NC continues to share with our community!

We had wonderful weather this year!  Last year's cold rainy day has now faded into memory.

I wasn't the only one with a camera, here Cilla, Janie and Charlie enjoy looking at Janie's photos.

The cashiers were busy almost continuously.

When my coughing got to me, I took a break!

Charlie was entertaining as always.  We'll miss him and his wife, Gene, as they move to their new home this month!

Old friends got together to discuss their lives.

The print below was the topic of a blog search for Dr. Jane Carroll's benefit...and you can click here to learn more about that interesting side-line. (The comments at the bottom of that blog posting give the answer)

And the grim reaper found a new scythe!

Children got face paintings, or learned to knit...

And the last job was breaking down unused boxes ready to be hauled away around 3:30 pm.

Our proceeds will help the UUCSV outreach in Black Mountain in many ways...as well as our sister church in Transylvania, Romania.  But the experience of working together (over 50 donors, over 40 volunteers) was an amazing event.   I can't thank everyone enough.  Blessings for your time and caring enough about others to make this Trillium Festival go so well.  (The party hasn't had a date set yet...but soon we'll all sit down for a pot luck celebration, everyone!)

    1. Those of us volunteers who started the day bringing things out of the church were really tired by the end. But we've mostly recouperated by now.

  4. I think your sale was as much fun for the workers as the folks attending and buying. -- barbara -- FOLKWAYS NOTEBOOK

So glad to have your comments...whatever they may be. I'm one who likes to reply sometime or another, so others will see that; or you might happen back sometime and see what conversation might have started.
