Black Mountain

The greening of the mountains from Tanbark Ridge overlook, elevation 3175 feet, Blue Ridge Parkway, North Carolina. The road seen in upper left is the parkway as it continues northeast. Can you see the little houses, including my favorite, the red roofed one?

Volunteer Appreciation Party

We've got a date to have our Trillium Volunteer Appreciation Party.
Friday, May 30.  6 pm.

Of course it's an open party, and you didn't have to do a thing to be able to bring your own pot luck drinks or dishes to share with everyone.  If the weather is nice we'll bring tables outside, so bring your own seating if you have one of those folding chairs.  Doesn't everyone have them so they can go to summer concerts?

And our Friday Fling has been rescheduled for the same evening...which means there will be a movie shown on the big screen inside at some point.

I'm almost back to normal today.  Am working in the pottery studio at home diligently.  Well, except for breaks like this one.

Thought for the day:

There are a thousand ways to kneel and kiss the earth.

  1. I always admire what "potters" can do with their wheel and hands! We have a fabulous local potter right here in town. I like your quote too.

  2. Love your Rumi quote. What an active community you have -- all those neighborhood events -- plus. I have a feeling that summer is a very busy time in Black Mountain. -- barbara

So glad to have your comments...whatever they may be. I'm one who likes to reply sometime or another, so others will see that; or you might happen back sometime and see what conversation might have started.
