More spring is sprung!

Often first daffodils are cut back by a snow or severe frost.

Ours have been blooming consistently however. Maybe Mon. 3/18 will have a frost that night that may nip them down.

Wonderful bed of pale daffies in front of the Coach House this year.

An Asheville store had Amaryllis flowers in it's window, with a sign saying they were not for sale.

I think I would have liked to explore that store...but my friends wanted to go along. I'm with them.

Today's quote:

Happy Imbolc

The beginnings of spring.  Many years daffodils will not only come up, but bloom, and then freeze with our ongoing seesaw of winter into spring.

Cycle of green

The month of February in North Carolina is confusing to plants...

Or maybe I meant humans...perhaps nature knows just what she is doing.

"To find the universal elements enough; to find the air and the water exhilarating; to be refreshed by a morning walk or an evening saunter; to be thrilled by the stars at night; to be elated over a bird's nest or a wildflower in spring - these are some of the rewards of the simple life."  John Burroughs
