The greening of the mountains from Tanbark Ridge overlook, elevation 3175 feet, Blue Ridge Parkway, North Carolina. The road seen in upper left is the parkway as it continues northeast. Can you see the little houses, including my favorite, the red roofed one?

    So bare.. we have so many lots like that around here in our little town. Sad to think of how things were booming only 10 years ago or so. Just sad to see things go.

    I find this photo very evocative...it made me sit and think while looking through the chain link fence at history, both recent and ancient.
