Black Mountain

The greening of the mountains from Tanbark Ridge overlook, elevation 3175 feet, Blue Ridge Parkway, North Carolina. The road seen in upper left is the parkway as it continues northeast. Can you see the little houses, including my favorite, the red roofed one?

Montreat Campground - Part Two

The campgrounds hadn't opened yet when I visited, but they've already hung the planters.

Nice bulletin board showing comments and photos of the process of making the campgrounds.  It is well done and very inviting.

Thought for the day:

The period of greatest gain in knowledge and experience is the most difficult period in one's life. Through a difficult period you can learn; you can develop inner strength, determination, and courage to face the problems.

  1. Montreat is such a beautiful place. We visited friends who were staying in one of the older homes -- a quaint little cottage that was like a time capsule from the Twenties and Thirties.

So glad to have your comments...whatever they may be. I'm one who likes to reply sometime or another, so others will see that; or you might happen back sometime and see what conversation might have started.
