The greening of the mountains from Tanbark Ridge overlook, elevation 3175 feet, Blue Ridge Parkway, North Carolina. The road seen in upper left is the parkway as it continues northeast. Can you see the little houses, including my favorite, the red roofed one?

More houses of the Spirit

 I bring you to the Unitarian Universalist Congregation of the Swanannoa Valley.  UUCSV as it is known by those who attend.


 There is now a sweet memorial garden in a quiet place under trees.


 The memorial wall has names of people I've known (all but one of them). It doesn't contain names of those who don't have friends/family to post their names.  I see that as a limitation that our diverse geography has created, families live elsewhere, so don't put a name where their loved ones had lived.

    It looks rather charming. I presume he different names on the bricks are those who have donated to the cause.

      It is, and a little bit cooler in the shad on sunny days. We had a luncheon in the gazebo last week, 6 of us fit nicely at a small table.
