At the car show July 29, 2023 in Black Mountain, at the former Bi-Lo grocery parking lot (now owned by Ingles grocery, which doesn't want competition).
Two Avanti cars were on display.
This show had a lot of American cars, and only a few foreign ones (mostly the older versions). It's the first time this show has been in this place, and it's a shame it was so hot that day. But having it in August as it has been the last couple of years was about the same!
Today's quote:
No protracted war can fail to endanger the freedom of a democratic country.
-Alexis de Tocqueville, statesman and historian (1805-1859)
...the Avanti looked futuristic when it was introduced and it still looks great today. The green Datsun Z is a classic.
ReplyDeleteYes it is...I was from a family who owned only Studebakers probably since the company had built wagons! So the Avanti was of great interest when it fist appeared, but it reminds me of the Jetsons for some reason.
DeleteI have never heard of this car. Interesting! How is your fever? Gone, I hope?
ReplyDeleteThere were certainly very few on the road. Fever has subsided with meds. Now to get back energy that has been lost. And work on side effects of meds. Baby steps.
DeleteNice looking cars, the make is new to me. Take care, enjoy your day!
ReplyDeleteI was attracted to their off-center hoods, Avanti's had, which doesn't show when the hoods are raised, does it!
DeleteI am not familiar with the Avanti.
