Neighborhood looks

 One day I actually made it puff puff puffing up the hill of our parking lot, and found the apartments in the building at the top of the hill had pretty decorations. Stopping to take a pic also helped me catch my breath!

Now there's a lady with a green thumb! I love seeing everything growing up and up all over her entryway.

A promise of fall color from those mums. I was surprised to see a hummingbird feeder at ground level. I thought we could only hang them on balconies, where hopefully hungry bears couldn't reach them. Mmm.

And her next door neighbor also has a hummer feeder...along with some seasonal colors.

I feel very fortunate to be able to walk anywhere, compared to some neighbors who are wheelchair bound. At the vascular center I noticed a man with only one leg in a wheel chair. It made me feel so grateful to still have two. Simple things.

It will be mi-October before the mountains have good colors,  if it's anything like last year. We shall see!

Craggy Gardens

 Burnett Reservoir (source of all water for Ashevile) really stood out well Oct 30, 2018, with most of the trees having none or brown leaves, and some green still on lower levels.

 Craggy tunnel of the Blue Ridge Parkway, where a lot of travelers passed through to go park on the other side of this ridge, where another parking area leads to a hike to the top of Craggy Gardens.

Rhododendron has all lost it's leaves, and the rocks show better on Craggy Mountain.  At the top there actually were some people looking down over the scenery.

Fair in the fall

Come to Dillsboro, NC the first weekend in November, every year for the greatest collection of outdoor pottery booths ever! I am unable to attend it this year, so hope some of my friends will carry their cameras and share with me.

Fall is almost here

I was checking the trees when I was on the parkway the week before Labor Day.  Nothing had changed colors up there yet...so I'm going to have to go up again in a few weeks.

I wanted to share a picture of  my friends who now live in Washington state, and myself on the right.  Perhaps they will see fall colors before I do.

Maybe we can have a contest!  I don't think I should allow my relatives in Connecticut to enter it, however.  And then there are my blogger Canadian friends!

Ms. Brooks speaks very poetically, but what does "magnitude and bond" mean?  For me it tends to say we make the other bigger, but also hold them back, or set limits.  What do you think?
