The moon

 

No idea if the streaks and little blue dot were in the phone or where in space...so I cleaned the lens!

This may be my favorite moon photo, over Lake Tomahawk after sunset.

Weather here yesterday was windy with some rain forecast, but by noon it hadn't arrived. I took car for oil change and asked the owner to drive me next door to the Moments Coffee shop. He did, and I had a very nice scone with cinnamon and nuts. I met a woman and shared the good thing of his driving me over, and we talked about car repairs a bit. I admitted I'd gotten out of breath just taking out the garbage.

 So when R.T. called to say my car was ready (he also had checked it out to see if all the car-things were functioning correctly) this new friend, Marie, offered to drive me back over next door so I wouldn't have to walk through the weeds. I was very grateful. And the car was ok too! I had also been very shaky and spilled some of my coffee because of that, while commenting on the young man with a curl in the middle of his forehead. I told him about my son's veneration of Superman as a boy and insisting of having a curl on his forehead also. So then of course we (there were 3 male staff behind the counter) talked about all the Clark Kents among us! A good morning!

Some of my favorite things

 

The Doughnut Economics model simplified, showing that the area of Safe Space for Humanity coincides with sustainable economic development. This is one use for this model, and several others look to all human needs on the inner circle compared to the environmental needs on the outer circle. See my earlier post HERE.

Spaceship Orion takes a photo of earth, to replicate the time in 1972 an astronaut took the same view. Orion is about to go around the moon and obtain scientificd data. Something about moving toward more trips to Mars...

Cherry Blossom Moon

I may not be able to keep the moon in focus, but I loved that it turned the sky pink from the cherry blossoms.  Enjoy the reflection of light off our dear old satellite, the full moon.  For that reason I'm including this in Weekend Reflections.

It won't be full for a week, the moon, that is.  This year spring is lagging behind, while last year (2012) it was at least a week earlier, according to blossoming trees anyway.  The tilt of the earth may say it's spring, but the things growing upon her breast, they are a bit more wary this season.
