feeling a bit political

They're pretty common this time of year.

The highway people have even planted them along the interstate nearby.  Why would the government (either state or federal?) spend money doing this when they are cutting our access to affordable housing, education, and health care?  Somehow it's putting flowers on someone's grave to me.  But these flowers are by my favorite lake, and not installed by any government agencies (I think).
