Black Mountain

The greening of the mountains from Tanbark Ridge overlook, elevation 3175 feet, Blue Ridge Parkway, North Carolina. The road seen in upper left is the parkway as it continues northeast. Can you see the little houses, including my favorite, the red roofed one?

Comfy chair by the fire

The little card tells an interesting story not of just this rocker, but the cabin from which it came.

The wood of Rhododendron bushes forms many beautiful railings...this is the first time I've seen a rocker made with it.  I'm guessing the basket woven slats are from split oak.

Thanks to the Swannanoa Valley History Museum!
