Black Mountain

The greening of the mountains from Tanbark Ridge overlook, elevation 3175 feet, Blue Ridge Parkway, North Carolina. The road seen in upper left is the parkway as it continues northeast. Can you see the little houses, including my favorite, the red roofed one?

Saluda trip part 2

I won't postpone the joy of this shop...Heartwood Gallery.

It is a double-size store, so after we enjoyed beautiful Carolina pottery, wood work, and sculptures on one side, we then had another whole shop of jewelry and fabrics and other sculptures to enjoy.

And Kim was a hostess of the business, giving us answers and personal interest throughout.  A few other people came in while we must have spent around 40 minutes there.  I did find a small treasure for one family member which will remain secret for now.

This was the BEST shop we visited...both the quality of merchandise, and the attitude.

tomorrow another shop owner who was welcoming in Saluda.

Quote for today:

It is a huge danger to pretend that awful things do not happen. But you need enough hope to keep going. I am trying to make hope. Flowers grow out of darkness.

  1. Like your quote! Nice that you are taking time to tour the shops. We all need time to just do anything. -- barbara
