Black Mountain

The greening of the mountains from Tanbark Ridge overlook, elevation 3175 feet, Blue Ridge Parkway, North Carolina. The road seen in upper left is the parkway as it continues northeast. Can you see the little houses, including my favorite, the red roofed one?

RAIN and flowers

We've been getting a lot, and some areas of North Carolina have flash flooding. Not here, yet. And no mudslides, yet.

These earliest day lilies are Stella d'Oro. A smaller flower without the pointed edges, which usually has a curl to their edges.  Maybe when they dry out again.

  3. I like daylilies. There is a bad spot in our garden where nothing else will grow, but they thrive. I have had stellas in the past but didn't prefer them. Maybe I just grew tired of them after a few years.
