Black Mountain

The greening of the mountains from Tanbark Ridge overlook, elevation 3175 feet, Blue Ridge Parkway, North Carolina. The road seen in upper left is the parkway as it continues northeast. Can you see the little houses, including my favorite, the red roofed one?

Town Square arbor seat


This caught my eye driving by the new Town Square in Black Mountain, NC.  What on earth is it?  An arbor seat is the best answer I've come up with...done with Rhododendron vines.  Very local!  There is the Christmas tree raised in the center of the square, to the left in this picture.

    Beautiful! It would make a nice backdrop for a manger scene.

      Wouldn't it though? Back when a town could do a manger scene. I love having comments from the author whose books are helping me fall asleep at night...rather intimate somehow! Please tuck me in Vicki!
