Black Mountain

The greening of the mountains from Tanbark Ridge overlook, elevation 3175 feet, Blue Ridge Parkway, North Carolina. The road seen in upper left is the parkway as it continues northeast. Can you see the little houses, including my favorite, the red roofed one?

Icy view of the world

An icy view of my neighbors as I warm up the car and wait for the ice to melt on windows...somewhat pretty views through the ice.

  1. Pretty! We're getting to explore snow and ice in all their phases, aren't we?

  2. When I used to paint (oil or acrylics) I liked to slop on the paint with a pallett knife. These photos have the texture I was after, but are translucent too. I should have tried painting things then pouring water over them and making ice.

So glad to have your comments...whatever they may be. I'm one who likes to reply sometime or another, so others will see that; or you might happen back sometime and see what conversation might have started.
