I mainly wanted to know the names of the flowers that are matching the shutters, flowers spill over the rock walls. I've since learned that these are a kind of spreading phlox. I doubted it when I heard that, because phlox in my mind were tall. But these apparently are too.

Ha - that's a great photo!
ReplyDeleteNow that was good timing. Awesome the car pulling up. Did you get some pictures of the flowers anyhow before or after like on the side.?. My brother and wife many moons ago painted their house all pink. Only they had a A Caddy car on driveway. He worked hard for it double shifts.. Now he passed on early age. Never got to enjoy what he worked for.
ReplyDeleteHis fast pace living was not the best choice. It took him to the grave sooner then we all expected. His wife is 91 young and she is doing well. She has all her faculties. Bless her. Thanks for sharing the picture.
What a great picture! he car is a perfect addition. Yes, that's creeping phlox -- though around here folks call it 'thrift.'
ReplyDeleteHello, I've been missing Black Mountain and looking for vintage photos of the town. The first image I saw was this photo of my house! Thank you for making my day. BTW I was also wondering what those flowers were and now I have the answer.
ReplyDeleteHa ha! Laurie that is so fun! It renews my faith that blogs are a worthwhile use of time, to communicate and share with folks we don't know, yet. Love it! Barb
