Black Mountain

The greening of the mountains from Tanbark Ridge overlook, elevation 3175 feet, Blue Ridge Parkway, North Carolina. The road seen in upper left is the parkway as it continues northeast. Can you see the little houses, including my favorite, the red roofed one?

Maples

As you might notice in my new header, the maples are turning on the south facing slope downtown at the Center for the Arts (which is behind me).

Incidentally, there is a train passing at the bottom of the picture in the header, did you notice?

Quote for today:

A friend is someone who knows the song in your heart, and can sing it back to you when you have forgotten the words.

  1. I miss the maples of the Midwest when they are turning such brilliant colors right now. Your maples are beautiful. Great quote and new header! -- barbara
