A grey spring day at Lake Tomahawk, Mar 22, 2024

The tree fell in the woods

And some dilligent workers cut it up, cleaned up the path, and left some big logs there

Quote for the day:

As life becomes harder and more threatening, it also becomes richer, because the fewer expectations we have, the more the good things of life become unexpected gifts that we accept with gratitude.

COMMENTARY ON QUOTE:

I think this is not true.  No starving person is going to be that grateful for the sun or the rain, nor someone who has been hurt severely is going to be grateful for one moment of less pain.  Perhaps, but I think this idea just doesn't sit well with me.  What do you think?

  1. Interesting quote. I can't imagine that a starving person would find life richer -- but they might value even the tiniest crumb immensely.

    1. I agree, and that reminds me of the practice of mindful eating. I think I'll try doing that today.
