Celebrating 101 years

 Marilyn Braun just turned 101 years old. She comes to exercise every week (brought by her daughter) at the Lakeview Center for Active Aging.

I told her I am often encouraged by her being there. She just does what she can. And that's all anyone can do! She walks with a walker, and can get up and down from her chair just fine. She's a "little bit of a thang."

Our chair yoga class on Friday mornings sang happy birthday to her! Here our teacher, Deb Vingle shows us how to flex our feet to keep them working happily. In the background under the window another group of seniors are playing cards.

Some yummy food on an outing

 A trip to Morgantown to the Asian Fusion Kitchen

A fun decorated ceiling gave us a cheerful welcome.

Bulgogi (Korean BBQ Beef) was Judy's delight. She said it was well seasoned but not "hot" spicey.

Pad Woon Sen was delicious! I brought half of it home!

Others also had a great soup and appetizers, which I forgot to take photos of.

The rain garden

 

The plants for the rain garden beside the clay studio. May 15 I took this shot.

Though in late June we've had drought conditions, there's constant water discharged from the clay studio, which may have different colors in it at times, depending on the chemicals in glazes.

There are some nice plants growing well here now.
