Black Mountain

The greening of the mountains from Tanbark Ridge overlook, elevation 3175 feet, Blue Ridge Parkway, North Carolina. The road seen in upper left is the parkway as it continues northeast. Can you see the little houses, including my favorite, the red roofed one?

A bit of bacon? Animal week.

Miss big bellied pig didn't stay around for a second picture...but was pretty quick on the hoof.

I did find a bulletin with some of the animals' pictures, and who sponsors the farm.

I didn't see any goats, but they probably were looking for a handout, and I only had a camera out!

The buildings seen yesterday are part of the Black Mountain Home for Children (formerly Presbyterian Orphanage.)

Quote for today:
When we treat ourselves and our bodies as we would a trusted and loyal companion, we keep our energy free from negative thoughts that would complicate our journey. Our bodies are not our enemies, and we are not fighting a battle. Instead, we are investing our love and attention into the care and support of a beautiful creation—our selves.
