Black Mountain

The greening of the mountains from Tanbark Ridge overlook, elevation 3175 feet, Blue Ridge Parkway, North Carolina. The road seen in upper left is the parkway as it continues northeast. Can you see the little houses, including my favorite, the red roofed one?

Ducks after

We would tease the boys in high school that they had a D.A.  A ducks after (though of course the a stood for another word meaning the tail end) was a popular way of combing their hair up into a kind of tail that did resemble these ducks.

These ducks were really enjoying something on the bottom of the lake, and barely would come up for air.

Quote for today:

Can you see the holiness in those things you take for granted – a paved road or a washing machine? If you concentrate on finding what is good in every situation, you will discover that your life will suddenly be filled with gratitude, a feeling that nurtures the soul.

So glad to have your comments...whatever they may be. I'm one who likes to reply sometime or another, so others will see that; or you might happen back sometime and see what conversation might have started.
