Black Mountain

The greening of the mountains from Tanbark Ridge overlook, elevation 3175 feet, Blue Ridge Parkway, North Carolina. The road seen in upper left is the parkway as it continues northeast. Can you see the little houses, including my favorite, the red roofed one?

A clearer view now...

From the front porch of the Red House, looking toward State Street.  Now this huge old tree will only be half as shady as before.

I stopped by to renew my membership yesterday.  Now to make some art that I can share in a show at their gallery!

  1. Too bad about the tree. That is the problem we have when a storm hits us. So many trees in Tallahassee and they come down on the power lines and houses. The main reason I had all of the trees removed from my yard a few years ago.

    1. Later in the day I saw they were taking down the whole tree...which probably was a good idea since it was diseased.

So glad to have your comments...whatever they may be. I'm one who likes to reply sometime or another, so others will see that; or you might happen back sometime and see what conversation might have started.
