Helen and I finally had a chance to eat lunch at Taco Billy in Black Mountain NC. I started a few months ago as I drove by, clicking a couple of photos, and grabbing one from Facebook. And included the menu. HERE
It's sort of local, being an offshoot from another Taco Billy in Asheville.
This is one side of two dining rooms...this used to be the location of Seven Sisters Gallery. So maybe that's why one wall has all these old paintings with a billy goat snuck into each of them!
The owner said he painted this goat (Billy?) in a gown. The other restaurant of this name has a goat in a tuxedo.
There we are capturing the sign saying new hires may start at $17.50/hour. That's high for this area. And it's working, there were plenty of people serving us.
Today's quote:
How we respond to life is a testament to our humanity and individuality.
Hello,
ReplyDeleteI love tacos, I hope the new restaurant does well. The per hour wage is really good. Take care, enjoy your day!
...that mural is the GOAT!
ReplyDeleteIt sure is. We ate right in front of it. There was a bit of a sound problem...like many restaurants these days, eating while shouting seems to be the norm!
DeleteWe have a taco truck. I tried it once, and didn’t like it very much. But it seems popular, so perhaps we should try again.
ReplyDeleteI still prefer my shrimp tacos at Ole's Guacamole restaurant. But whatever I had was pretty good. Mmm, wonder what it was now.
DeleteThat looks like a nice place for some tacos. That's a very interesting goat mural.
ReplyDeleteThe environment would be nicer if there were some fabric hanging somewhere to absorb the echoing sounds that everyone made as they talked loud enough for friends to hear them over others who were also talking loudly!
DeleteQuite a mural.
ReplyDeleteI love the goat in a gown!
