Rhododendrons are wonderful in bloom all over the mountains.
I always get this plant confused with Mountain Laurel. Most of the wild Laurel has little blossoms, much the same shape, usually white, or a reddish streaked.
This is the laurel.
And this is our rhododendron.
Black Mountain
The greening of the mountains from Tanbark Ridge overlook, elevation 3175 feet, Blue Ridge Parkway, North Carolina. The road seen in upper left is the parkway as it continues northeast. Can you see the little houses, including my favorite, the red roofed one?
These are gorgeous!! Thank you for visiting my blog and for your lovely comment!!
ReplyDeleteOur Lake Eden is full of wonderful bird life, and a lovely walking path/boardwalk around the entire lake. The Black swans are quite a highlight, especially when they have baby cygnets!
I'd love to see your Lake Eden!!
Your laurels are quite similar to the rhododendrons. I have just been visiting a garden full of the most beautiful rhododendrons exquisite.
