Black Mountain

The greening of the mountains from Tanbark Ridge overlook, elevation 3175 feet, Blue Ridge Parkway, North Carolina. The road seen in upper left is the parkway as it continues northeast. Can you see the little houses, including my favorite, the red roofed one?

Gifts anyone?

The choices of places to purchase gifts...oh my.  I can think of a few dozen stores in downtown Black Mountain.  Think of getting all your gifts for a year on one day's shopping.  Well, maybe just most of them.

This week I have a grandson with a birthday.  Mmm.  I will definitely be sending him congratulatory wishes.

  2. Hi Montanagirl...I would really miss you if you decided to not comment on this blog one of these days. Thanks so much for being a regular reader. I know I haven't had much "beauty of NC" posted lately...but just look at those shiny windows of the stores! Tee hee.

  3. Like your quote. Your photos look like you have sun. I hope that forecast today for snow on the east coast misses you -- or those cold temps! -- barbara
