Finishing my walk about

1908 Letter carrier delivering mail (which was twice a day in many places)

Lady mailing a letter in New York in 1920

Oct 24 view out my living room windows

Oct 27 Living Room windows

Oct 29, it's 75 degrees outside my living room windows

Oct 25, dawn (without fog which happens more days than not) outside my bedroom window

OK, where's the walk about?

Path to the Lakeview Center

A different view of the Blue Ridge Parkway along those mountain slopes, looking past the green of the Black Mountain Golf Course.

Back to my Lake Tomahawk walk. The sky that day is as beautiful as the trees!
Not sharing with Skywatch Friday because they want a password for linking rather than regular url and name!

On Oct 27 we found lots of Mallards sleeping near shore...until some kid or dog might disturb them!

Water going out the chute (I know there's a better name for it) had a couple of Mallards picking something edible out of the matts left from landscaping recently.

As we walk this path usually we say hello to those passing going the other way.

It was a superb sky day.

Through the windows at Lakeview Center, Friday Chair Yoga class with Deb Vingle.

Coming of the I-40 ramp at Swanannoa were lots of beautiful colors...but of course I was in my car and not able to get the right shots.

Perhaps more riding than walking, eh?

Sharing with Sepia Saturday this week!

    1. The colors were very nice for their short duration, much later than usual here. But with all the dry weather we're having, it's easy to go photograph something or another!

  2. Nice views from your house as well as out and about.

    1. When we hit 21 at night and early morning, I started closing the blinds in the house for extra insulation. That way I don't have to run the (stupid) split unit in the bedroom which either wakes me up all night, or makes me suffocate because it won't cut off for 67 degrees inside and thinks it has to do the outside too! So it's turned off and a towel across its face! And a little space heater gives the floors warmth which doesn't happen with the splits. There's a crawlspace between downstairs ceilings and my floors, and the north wind just loves to speed around in there and freeze my feet.

  6. Lucky you - living in such a pretty place! And that walk around the lake must be wonderful in all seasons, but especially pretty just now with all the colors - not to mention the lovely views from your house. I also liked you two photos of the mail carrier who surely walked about quite a bit each day! And the lady mailing something was a nice matching touch to the first. :)

  7. A wonderful gallery of photographs of where you live. We have this year beautiful autumn colours here in the Scottish Borders, but we don’t always have the blue skies to show them off at their best.

  9. Wonderful collection of Autumn colors! Some people spend a lot of money traveling to our mountains just for an opportunity to see this beauty that you get to enjoy for free, Mostly :–)
