Flat Creek

Somebody sure got that name wrong.

A summertime shot in Montreat (up-stream from Black Mountain)

But if anywhere it might look flat, before flowing into the Swananoa River in another 2-300 yards, on the other side of US 70 in East Black Mountain...here it is.

The view from Ole's Guacamole Restaurant parking lot, with a Super 8 motel over there.

Some old trees have seen it all...

A prop from the restaurant which has seen better days.

Just a wee bit of fall color still to be seen.

While most of the leaves are already in the water.

Today's quote:

Gratefulness allows us to nurture a keener eye that no longer rushes past the small everyday moments that make up the larger part of our lives.

  1. Yeah, it does look pretty flat after the first pic.

    1. Indeed. This is as flat as it gets...just before joining the Swannanoa River...which meanders all through the valley picking up more creek water from each cove between the ridges.

  2. "Some old trees have seen it all," -- ain't that the truth, said this old tree. Lovely pics, and I might try washing the floor today with just my feet! (NewRobin13)

    1. Ha ha. Be careful of washing the floor that way...don't want to lose your balance. However, with enough wine it won't hurt much going down! Thanks for comment, and I know by now you are Robin...though maybe someday another anonymous may come along to confuse me. I do always love the old trees. And that little creek is older than those are I'll bet.
