Cloudy skies

For Skywatch Friday, a few photos taken after a rainy day. Love when the skies start to clear!

Today's quote:

I tire so of hearing people say, / Let things take their course. / Tomorrow is another day. / I do not need my freedom when I'm dead. / I cannot live on tomorrow's bread.

-Langston Hughes, poet and novelist (1902-1967)

    1. And down came the leaves! I do like wet earth smell, and the clean air when the sun shines again!

  2. I, like you, love the floatation of cloudy skies, how they pule up in anger and then dissipate into a lovely blue sky!

    1. Having lived in FL I certainly had plenty of opportunities to see thunder storms come and go. There's a bit less view here, but they do build up over the mountain ridges.

    1. Me too, I want to go see how the rain garden is doing at church. This would be a good test of their design. Me splashing around with my little phone camera, probably just lots of fallen leaves...very dull! But the need for rain everywhere is high.

  4. Nice sky views! Is that a tourist info center in the second photo? Beautiful header, very nice indeed!

    1. It's just a shelter, perhaps has a picnic bench in it. Right next to it during the summer is a water feature with spouts springing up at random intervals, and families with little kids really enjoy it when it's hot. Nearby is a public restroom building, which also is available to all. Our Chamber of Commerce is down the street, with many brochures inside.

  6. Those clouds seem to be letting a lot of light through. It’s a good combination.

    1. Some days they come and go, and I'm looking for some coming with rain tonight!

  7. Hydrangeas are beautiful in the fall and look how tall those have grown. I love how they change colors to blue and pink earlier in the year. I see two nests in the third photograph. They must be preparing for the winter months ahead. I love the smell after the rain too. Rain cleans the sidewalks, the leaves, the flowers, the cars and helps us to remember that nature does what it wants and when it wants to. Enjoy your weekend.
