Black Mountain

The greening of the mountains from Blue Ridge Rd, Black Mountain, North Carolina.

In honor of Water, again.

I really thought I'd already posted this walk...

But I couldn't find it.

So here it is, as I thought I'd organized it, probably as I fell asleep one night.

This is Flat Creek as it comes through Black Mountain. Much more "civilized" than it is up in Montreat in the curves of the mountains.

Sharing with Tom's Tuesday Treasures.

Today's quote:

Death tugs at my ear and says, "Live, I am coming."

-Oliver Wendell Holmes, Sr., poet, novelist, essayist, and physician (1809-1894)

    1. I imagine Emilee liked to play in the water, thus the walkway is in remembrance of her short life.

  5. OHHHH such a delicious post, I could stay here all day- I can very clearly hear the babbling brook, , the clear water tumbling over the stones. Lovely it is too! Whatever happened to shorten the life of Emilee is peacefully put to rest by the steam/creek/brook. Great little memorial .

    1. It does give one a pause to enjoy the serenity, listen to birds and Flat Creek doing its continuation of purpose for a millennium.

  8. I sometimes listen to a podcast as I am falling asleep. I may doze. I wake up and turn the phone off, and then I sometimes can't get back to sleep.

    1. I just renewed some podcasts to listen to on my phone, but I sometimes just go off and get busy and miss half of them. My son uses little ear things so he can hear them wherever he is.
