Not the heat

I feel like a dragon girl today. There's a lot going on behind the scenes, in a way. Paying attention to political situations, volcanoes, and now focused on relatives living in Texas, hoping they and their homes are safe with Beryl coming through right now.

And not blogging but doing more health related things (like actually some cardio workout from videos yesterday, and plans to do some today too!)

Thinking about more relatives, my oldest son has COVID and my ex went to hospital overnight with breathing problems. I wouldn't have known if I hadn't made Sunday calls to all 3 sons...it may be a good thing to have for a habit.

Staying indoors as much as I can to avoid the hot mug whenever I step outside.

So I have just been on a slightly different reality, and forgot to post anything today here.

So at least I'll offer a quote:

The world is changed not by the self-regarding, but by men and women prepared to make fools of themselves. -P.D. James, novelist (3 Aug 1920-2014)

  1. ...I may sound like a jerk, but I try to be concerned with things that I have control of and that is very little!

Sorry for your son with covid moving in. It is a mean virus. It has become popular up here once again- folks dropping like flies, theraflu nighttime powder selling out!

    1. Can I send you some pottery? Just kidding. I am not good at shipping my pots to people who even have known they are theirs.I talked with my son today, and he sounded better, fever is down, and since he has had it since Fri he is thinking tomorrow may be the last day he has to stay in. Five days or something. I said, test yourself first. He grumbled for having to pay for the test. Geese. Men, I'm thinking!

  5. Yes, all the moving parts of life can feel like a battle of dragons in the air. And we have to hold on tight. I like to focus on the beauty and the good things as you now. I appreciate the art and flowers you shared with us today. And I can relate to juggling all of the competing issues going on right now. Glad we can get together like this for moments of sanity and support. Aloha to you from Honolulu

    1. I am identifying with dragons for good...sort of like your outlook. I know the stories always have them being adversarial to the heroes, but I am creating cute little critters of power to do what is needed...and now I'm looking at climate change and seeing how our earth may respond to some dragon power...of course probably by stopping burning up the fossil fuels, eliminating so many things that hurt the environment, and mainly people coming together to help one another.

    1. I and at least one friend haven't caught it yet either. But I have already got an intermittent fever that visits whenever it wants to, so Covid might be just another thing like that. I'd like to avoid it. Glad you liked my sculpture of the dragon girl, and the flowers (don't know who took it, it could be you...!)

  7. These hot days are for me, a matter of trying to survive. And with covid on the upswing, a good time to stay away from crowds.

    1. I understand the feeling of survive the heat! So hard if there's no air conditioning around. I live in a bubble of AC, and then am shocked and can hardly breathe out in the humid heat! Yes, avoiding crowds is definitely a good idea.
