As spring arrives

Repost from 2020

Spring Equinox

Yes, today finally there is as much daylight as nighttime. We have been dreaming of this for weeks...sharing our first blossoms together, sighing that this is so slow this year. But I looked at some of the blooms around me, and found they are within a day of when they bloomed last year.

Perhaps my yearning is what has grown longer, deeper, definitely more intense.

If I were disciplined enough to walk every day, I might have actual days through the years, but these are pretty close.

  1. As memory pics pop up on FB, I see that in some years we have been almost snow-less by now. In other years, we have had very big storms. We seem to be in the middle this year. It isn’t nice, but we aren’t getting new snow — so far.

  4. Such pretty photos. The blossom is just beginning here, at least on the trees in sheltered (warmer) spots. I'm sorry to hear you're not so well and hope you soon feel much better.

    1. The slow or fast progression of blossoms is actually different each year, and seems to depend on temperature mostly! Not very wise, but it's the main thing I see. Climate change doesn't directly seem to make a difference here.
