The ornamental invasive Bradford Pear Tree

I admit I got a kick out of the clouds right behind the tree!

Evening light shows different trees illuminated.

Few things can help an individual more than to place responsibility on him, and to let him know that you trust him. -Booker T. Washington, reformer, educator, and author (1856-1915)

    1. Thanks...their bright white blossoms do stand out against the rest of winter branches.

  2. ...this turned out to be a terrible tree. I can't count the number of truck load of pears that I sold in my nursery career, I wonderful if they will let me into heaven?

    1. Oh dear, yes...I think striving for beauty must somehow offset your setting loose the Bradford pear trees!

  5. I wonder if the person who planted the tree knew how big it would grow?! It is beautiful

    1. Good question. And another nearby one may be dying already.

  6. Yes, I guess the trees are invasive, but how many other plants fall into that category? I think it is the way of nature anyway to spread new species where it will. And at least these beautify the boring interstates.

    1. Which, I should add, are pretty darn invasive themselves, lol!

    2. At least the pear trees are pretty in the woods, highways, not so much!

  7. Beautiful but thank goodness, I haven't planted any. Though I've made a lot of other bad choices--English ivy for one.

    1. Oh no, you need an English gardener to go with the ivy!

  8. I had one taken down shortly after I moved into my house. I never even got to see it bloom, but it was too close to the house, and it was letting squirrels get in the attic.
