At the Tailgate Market in Black Mountain, many people bring their dogs. They have to behave...in all good doggie fashion.
It was a sunny cool morning...just right for a stroll around the market.
This sweet blue tick hound sends hi to my granddog, Zora, who lives in CO.
Then there was the man in a kilt and sneakers, and a tee shirt that said Coonhounds.
He said his hound had ADHD and was focusing on one thing at a time. She sure did, making sure she was quite comfortable while he stood in line for baked goods. (wouldn't it be nice to have folks stand in line at our pottery booth?) And he had no Scottish accent either.
I'm pretty sure this was Rosemary, who's mother makes her dresses. (There's a pet store in Black Mountain (Bone Afide) with everything imaginable, I wonder if these are there...)
I was at an interesting booth selling pottery every once in a while...but had plenty of time to snap some of the pooches. Actually, these are only the first batch!
This lovely lady (Shirley, Shelly?) sat behind our booth at the sidewalk wall. Her family parked there a while and ate.
See you next week!

Courage has nothing to do with our determination to be great. It has to do with what we decide in that moment when we are called upon to be more.

...I will never understand why people think that they have to take their dogs to public events. I've seen too many dog fights.
ReplyDeleteAgreed!
DeleteFor a few years they banned dogs from the market, just for that reason. But a new market manager came along, and made lots of rules to keep owners more responsible, no fights, and PLEASE pick up after them. But still that many dogs is bound to have a few who bark at each other. And we have no way to keep them from using tent posts as fire hydrants...except to yell "stop that." And hope the owner, who has it on a leash, will pull him away.
DeleteI tell Sue that she should get a dog, so she could go on proper walks rather than on her very slow marches with me.
ReplyDeleteThe only dog in our extended family is a Pomeranian, with very short legs, so it's not much exercise to walk him. Slow marches are at least in the fresh air and sometimes sunshine.
DeleteHello Barb,
ReplyDeleteThey are all beautiful dogs, very well behaved. I love your dog photos.
Thank you for linking up and sharing your post. Take care, have a great day and happy weekend. PS, thank you for leaving me a comment.
I like the looks of that red hound. And Shirley;/Shelley looks really personable.
ReplyDeleteShirley/Shelly was a very well behaved dog...I did like her face markings a lot. She elicited some barks from a dog whose owners were friends of her people. But they stayed in the street and didn't enter the market with the barker.
DeleteCool idea to photograph the dogs!
ReplyDeleteDelightful canines and such pleasant scenes. Aloha
ReplyDeleteSeems like almost everyone has a dog. Love all the photos.
